Bob Johnson and BPWA board member Janet Byron, co-authors of the book Berkeley Walks, will lead a 2.5- to 3-mile tour of North Berkeley between Live Oak Park and Marin Circle. This charming neighborhood features striking historic architecture, mature leafy street trees, quiet paths, and large volcanic rock outcroppings. Paths we will visit include Oak Street Path, Terrace Walk, and Oxford School Way. Other highlights include little-known High Court and the long-time home of the Depression-era documentary photographer Dorothea Lange. The walk is one of three new walks recently posted by Johnson on www.berkeleywalks.com. The walk is sponsored by Berkeley Path Wanderers Association and is free and there is no need to register. We meet at the northwest corner of Shattuck Avenue and Eunice Street in north Berkeley.
