A historic African American neighborhood, southwest Berkeley features the city’s most quirky house, the home of civil rights leader William Byron Rumford, and the Santa Fe railroad right-of-way, as well as spectacular street trees and diverse architecture. This is a free, easy walk of just over two miles on mostly level ground, sponsored by Greenbelt Alliance.
